Rhode Granted Second Short-Term Stay of Execution

Brandon Rhode to be executed Monday, September 27, 2010

Atlanta – The Supreme Court of Georgia granted a stay of execution for inmate Brandon Rhode until Monday, September 27, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. Jones County Superior Court ordered the Department to carry out the execution on a date between September 21 and September 28, 2010. Commissioner Brian Owens has set the date for September 27, 2010 at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7:00 p.m.

Rhode was sentenced to death in 2000 for a triple murder. If executed, he will be the 25th inmate put to death by lethal injection in Georgia.
