Just a day after the Governor of Connecticut signed the bill repealing the death penalty; it is with great enthusiasm that we share this timely Op-ed from President Jimmy Carter calling for the abolition of the death penalty.

If ever there was a time for Georgia to abandon the death penalty and join a movement the upholds humanity and dignity and rejects the cycle of violence that time is now.

We hope that you’ll join us on May 17 as we honor those great leaders who have built a foundation and vision for a better Georgia-a Georgia without the death penalty.
