Thank you for the scores of letters
you’ve sent (and continue to
send) to Commissioner Owens urging him to restore contact visits for
families,
friends, and clergy of those on death row.
Despite some promising developments; contact visits have yet to be restored. We must continue to tell the Commissioner that visitation and nurturing relationships with family, friends and clergy are not only vital to the health of those in prison, but also in preserving and promoting prison safety. The ability to maintain hope and a sense of purpose is embedded within the visits. In honor of mothers and families everywhere, GFADP is launching a Mother’s Day Card Action for the month of May. Please take a minute to send a card to Commissioner Owens urging him to reinstate contact visits on Georgia’s death row. Please print and fold one of the two cards below (feel free to send your own card as well) and mail to: Brian Owens, Commissioner Georgia Department of Corrections 2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, SE Twin Towers-East, Room 854 Atlanta, Georgia 30334 Mother's Day Card Action (A) (For those with a loved one in prison) Mother's Day Card Action (B) (general card) Send us a
quick email
at info@gfadp.org, after you send your card,
so we have a count of
how many cards have been sent.
