Karlan Holik
Secretary
Karlan Holik is a dedicated advocate for the abolition of the death penalty, a commitment that took root following the tragic murder of her father. Despite this deeply personal event, she remains resolute in her opposition to capital punishment—an issue her father also opposed.
A retired elementary school teacher, Karlan brings clarity, compassion and a powerful voice to the movement. She began her activism journey by organizing death penalty vigils in Macon, GA, and has plans of deepening GfADP’s efforts in Macon and Valdosta, GA. As someone relatively new to the movement, Karlan understands the challenges new volunteers face, so she works hard to ensure that everyone feels welcomed, valued and empowered.
