As a dedicated social justice advocate and communications strategist, Nicole Wiesen serves as the Communications Director for Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (GfADP). In this capacity, she promotes systematic change by leading public education initiatives and developing high-profile advocacy campaigns aimed at ending capital punishment in Georgia and beyond. To that end, she also collaborates with diverse communities and social justice organizations around the country.
Previously, Nicole held the position of Regional Coordinator for the Multifaith Initiative to End Mass Incarceration (M-EMI), a national coalition that mobilizes faith communities to address the injustices of the criminal legal system. In that capacity, she facilitated interfaith collaborations, organized community engagement programs and advanced policy education efforts to combat mass incarceration.
A recognized social justice leader, Nicole is known for bringing diverse communities together, fostering inclusive dialogues, and advocating for policies that uphold human dignity and equity.
Nicole earned a Ph.D. in Human Services with a specialization in Social and Community Services from Capella University, as well as a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Barry University. These qualifications underpin her strong commitment to restorative justice and community empowerment.
